The ProStaff’s 8x power helps to produce a spacious field of view and a larger exit pupil versus a higher-power model to make them more comfortable to use in low light or on a boat in rough or rolling seas. Their moderate-size objective lenses place them just above a compact model, offering the performance of a full-sized optic without excessive weight or bulk making them convenient to pack and carry. Their environmentally-friendly lead- and arsenic-free Eco-glass is fully multi-coated to maximize light transmission and improve contrast, clarity, and color fidelity. Complementing the lenses are phase-corrected roof prisms that have been further treated with highly reflective mirror coatings to eliminate internal interference and minimize light loss. The combination of glass and optical coatings produces high-contrast views that are bright and clear, with accurate colors across the entire field of view.
This ProStaff features a strong and lightweight fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate resin body, which further makes it easy to pack and carry, and weighing in at less than 15 ounces, you will experience less fatigue while holding them up to your eyes compared with larger models made with a metal chassis. To withstand the elements wherever you use them, the housing is O-ring sealed, allowing the binoculars to be submersed to 1 m for up to 10 minutes, and is nitrogen-filled for fogproof performance. Black rubber armoring protects from drops and impacts, as well as a sure non-slip grip.
