This clean pre-owned COMET EX-1 Digital Ambient & Flash Exposure Light Meter is a digital flash meter developed by Comet. It offers the ability for flash and incidental / reflected light readings, sliding baffle , and has a Illuminated LCD screen that is easily read. It has many features of the more expensive flash meters in the marketplace.
Note: This meter was also known as a Shepherd or Polaris SPD100 Digital Exposure Meter in some marketplaces.
- A digital flash meter developed by Comet that measures specific to strobe lighting such as multiple exposures, but it also covers the measurement of incoming light and reflected light, and the measurement of constant light, so it is suitable for various shooting situations

So, how does it work?
You enter the sync speed (shutter speed) you want to shoot at, take your reading, and it will tell you the f-stop to get the correct exposure. Pretty simple. It can be wired via a sync cable to your flash, which you can fire directly from the meter itself, or use wireless mode, and it will wait until it detects a flash. Ambient mode allows you to set for natural light outdoors and give direct or reflective readings.
Want to find the shutter speed for your preferred aperture? It’s easy – Once you’ve taken your reading, you can use the up/down buttons, and it will not only change your shutter speed but show the appropriate f-stop reading for the change. When you get to the f-stop you want, you know your shutter speed!
