Panasonic DMW-FL220 External Flash
Panasonic designed the Panasonic DMW-FL220 External Flash to complement the G1, GH1, LX3 and GF1 compact size and style. Any camera’s built-in flash is fine as far as it goes, but that’s not very far. You can achieve much better results with an external unit, easily justifying the cost and extra effort to carry it around.
Flash range is increased, camera battery drain from the flash is zero because external flashes have their own batteries, and illumination direction is adjustable reducing red-eye and putting you in control of lighting effects. For bounce flash techniques, the swivel-head mount allows for 60 degrees of up/down and 78 degrees of right/left movement, something the built-in flash can never do.
