The LEICA H-X015 DG SUMMILUX 15 mm / F1.7 designation ensures the high quality of the optical system of this new objective, formed by 9 elements in 7 groups and with three aspherical lenses , which eliminate spherical aberrations and distortion, in addition to making the lens system smaller.
Reflection is minimized throughout the visual range (380mm-780 mm) thanks to the low refractive index coating of the nanometer structure of the lens surface. This results in an extremely clear image, with a very noticeable reduction in flare and folded images.
Another novelty of the ASPH is the integration of an internal focusing system that allows a resolutionand contrast excellent, many in nearby images as very distant objects. The new stepper motor makes focusing smoother and quieter, whether in photography or video.
It should be noted that AF mode is much faster than phase difference autofocus when using a fast lens with a lower F value. The LEICA H-X015 DG SUMMILUX 15 mm / F1.7 ASPH is also compatible with sensor unit at a maximum speed of 240 frames per second to get the most out of the LUMIX G cameras’ high-speed AF system.
