Pentax PH-RBI58 Lens Hood
The Pentax PH-RBI 58mm Lens Hood is specifically designed for use with the Pentax HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR lens. This hood is a replacement for the original included hood from the lens.
Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the front element of the lens. In addition, since the form of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.
