Designed for general recording and sound-reinforcement applications the Sennheiser E614 is perfect for drum overheads; pianos, acoustic guitars, brass and woodwind instruments, with its wide frequency range of 40 Hz to 20 kHz plus high maximum sound pressure level capturing nearly every instrument as well as vocals. Together with the detailed transient response, this enables the E 614 to be extremely versatile, and it’s small enough to fit into some very tight locations.
The super-cardioid pickup pattern produces a tight directional sound field, allowing for precise mic placement while safely reducing the bleed from other instruments on stage or in the studio by minimizing noise and ambiance at the off-axis sections of the microphone capsule.
