The Sigma FP L Digital Camera with Electronic Viewfinder EVF-11 is a compact and modular mirrorless camera featuring a new 61MP full-frame sensor, improved autofocus performance with phase-detection, and a versatile feature-set catering to both photography and cinematography applications.
Included with the camera body is the EVF-11 Electronic Viewfinder; an auxiliary finder offering bright and clear eye-level monitoring. This EVF incorporates a 0.5" 3.68m-dot OLED panel, has 0.83x magnification and a 21mm eyepoint, and sports a 90° upward tilting design for comfortable viewing from low working angles. The EVF connects to the fp L via the left side ports and attaches using a 1/4"-20 threaded mount. It also incorporates its own USB Type-C port, to maintain the ability to record directly to SSDs, as well as a 3.5mm headphone port for audio monitoring.

The improved sensor and focusing greatly benefits photography use while also maintaining the same impressive video recording capabilities for a professional cinema workflow.
The new 61MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor suits high-resolution stills shooting and up to UHD 4K video recording with 12-bit raw output when recording externally. The BSI design of the sensor achieves low noise and offers a sensitivity range up to ISO 25600 for working in low-light conditions. The sensor’s design also now includes on-chip phase-detection autofocus, which greatly improves focusing speed and accuracy, especially when tracking moving subjects.
Beyond sensor upgrades, the fp L also introduces the ability to receive continuous power via USB-C to benefit extended recording times, such as when shooting time-lapses, extended clips, or when using the camera as a webcam. The sleek and minimal design of the camera body incorporates a rear 3.15" 2.1m-dot touchscreen LCD and the fp L is also compatible with the EVF-11 Electronic Viewfinder; an optional auxiliary EVF for clear eye-level monitoring. A single SD card slot is available for internal file saving and the fp L also supports recording directly to USB-C-connected hard drives, benefitting raw video recording and other large file size recording applications.
61 Megapixels Full-Frame BSI CMOS Sensor with Bayer-style colour filter array
The SIGMA fp L features a Bayer sensor with approximately 61 effective megapixels, higher than any other SIGMA camera before it. In addition to images with fine details, the fp L is capable of creating images that are high-definition and rich in colour, thanks to its ultra-high pixel count and SIGMA’s experience in developing cameras with a Foveon sensors.
Free of colour artifacts, the Foveon sensor legacy was also behind the decision that the fp L should have a low-pass filter to reduce moiré to minimum levels. The use of a low-pass filter was a choice that made sense for a camera with an ample megapixels such as the SIGMA fp L.
The BSI design of the sensor further helps to achieve accurate colours, smooth tones, and reduced noise when working in difficult lighting conditions. The sensitivity range from ISO 100-25600 suits working in a variety of lighting conditions and the dual base ISO configuration further ensures clean results.
Diverse aspect ratios
In STILL mode, you have seven aspect ratios to choose from. You can either choose one that suits your mood and preference, or try out one that you don’t normally use to discover a new framing and style. The SIGMA fp series’ diverse aspect ratio will bring you possibilities to experience something that may change the way you see things.

Custom frame lines
When shooting with different aspect ratios in mind, you can use a frame guide that’s useful when you decide the composition. The fp series now supports custom frame lines, where you can add a given aspect ratio or absolute pixel dimensions. It will prove useful in filmmaking where it may be necessary to cover different formats from movie, television, smartphone, etc.
A Selection of external viewfinders
You have a choice of two viewfinders for the fp series: the EVF-11, a high-definition and small-sized electronic viewfinder with an organic EL panel, or the LVF-11, an optical LCD viewfinder that allows you to see the view in a large LCD screen to check how it looks on the optical axis.

Sigma EVF-11 Electronic Viewfinder
The Sigma EVF-11 Electronic Viewfinder is designed exclusively for use with the SIGMA fp series. With its 0.5 inch, approx. 3.68 M dots OLED panel, this high-resolution, high-luminance viewfinder will help users feel more deeply immersed in their photography and make creating photos a more enjoyable experience.
This auxiliary viewfinder offers bright, high-magnification eye-level monitoring with the large 0.83x-magnification and 21mm eyepoint design for clear and immersive viewing that is especially useful when working in bright conditions. The finder’s design incorporates a 90° upward-tilting design to suit working from low angles and a sports integrated 3.5mm headphone plus USB Type-C ports to maintain a typical workflow.
The EVF-11 connects to the fp camera body via the left side USB Type-C and HDMI Type-D ports, and attaches using the side 1/4"-20 threaded mount. It maintains access to the microphone port on the side of the camera and also has a built-in switch for changing between EVF and LCD viewing methods.
