This mint condition Minolta SRT Super is a 35mm SLR launched in 1973-75. This kit has a beautiful & sharp Minolta Rokkor 50mm F/1.4 lens! The upgraded changes over the previous model, SRT 101, are significant to the advanced amateur photographer. Firstly, the camera included a full information viewfinder, whereby the lens aperture and selected shutter speed are shown in the viewfinder display. A photographer need never take his eye away from the finder now to check any details. As a new focusing aid, a split image rangefinder was added to the focusing screen. A multiple-exposure capability was also added through the use of the film release button. While this could be done on the other models, it was unpredictable, and the photographer needed to hold the rewind knob to ensure that the film was not partially advanced during the process. This was no longer a problem with the new model. Finally, the cold flash shoe was replaced by a hot shoe, eliminating the need for a sync cord when using electronic flash.
It is a simple SLR that boasts a TTL meter and manually set aperture and shutter speed (Bulb, 1 to 1/1000 sec), which is perfect for any versatile photographer. It’s a solid, durable, simple and dependable camera. You don’t have to worry about batteries (unless you want the light meter to work), as the SRT-Super is entirely mechanical. The viewfinder is big & sharp, and the ASA selection permits metering between 6 and 6400 film speeds.
The 50mm F/1.4 is sharp to use and makes it a perfect lens for shooting for different purposes, particularly landscapes, street photography & nature.
