The Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 Ai-S is a superb performer – whether mounted on a classic Nikon film camera or a modern high-resolution DSLR.This exceptional low-light manual focus lens is perfect for travel and portrait work and any situation where an extremely limited depth of field is desired.

The fast f/1.4 maximum aperture allows a large degree of control over depth of field, provides easy access to faster shutter speeds, and makes it easy to see through viewfinders for composition & focus. This lens is perfect for any available light shooting and general photography.  When used on compatible DX-format cameras, the 50mm offers a field of view equivalent to a 75mm lens, transforming it into a fast f/1.4 portrait lens.
