Thanks to the PENTAX optical design technology, the lens’s image circle has been optimized for full-frame 35mm K-mount interchangeable-lens SLR cameras. Multi-layer anti-reflection coating is applied to the surfaces of lens elements. This anti-reflection coating increases light transmission, eliminates flare and ghosting, and maintains colour consistency among all lens models.
Large maximum aperture
Thanks to its large F1.4 maximum aperture, the lens can easily produce images with a very shallow depth of field. Its round diaphragm produces a natural, beautiful bokeh effect while minimising the streaking of point light sources. The large aperture also makes it possible to use faster shutter speeds under poor lighting conditions to minimise the risk of camera shake and subject shake.
