What Is PA-PTTL
P-TTL uses your Pentax Digital Camera’s normal exposure meter to measure exposure from a pre-flash while the mirror is still down, then calculates the exposure, sending the information to the flash before the mirror lifts and the shutter opens. The flash, with that info, then gives the correct (most times) strength and duration of light for the settings of the camera. P-TTL flashes are the only ones which might be capable of being used as TTL metered wireless remote flashes (if they have this capability built-in), and some allow the use of the pop up flash as the master or controller for this purpose.
